When I arrived at the school at 7 am, my Cooperating teacher was not there yet, so I decided to hang out at the canteen while waiting for her. The start of our first subject was at 7:50 am, so I had plenty of time to kill. I ordered a cup of coffee and sat down to read a book.
After a few minutes, my Cooperating teacher arrived and immediately invited me to the room where she would teach, and I would observe. As soon as we got to the classroom, she started the lesson. The first thing she did was to go back to the previous day's discussion about the countries included in Asia. Then, she began discussing the "importance of the relationship with the environment."
Most of the students listened attentively, but some did not pay attention and teased their classmates. My Cooperating teacher interrupted the discussion and reminded the students to be respectful and pay attention. She was impressed that they could answer when she asked her students something. And if they couldn't answer, she would lower her question so everyone could follow.
When the class was about to end, my Cooperating teacher reminded the students that they needed to pass the lecture to be checked and recorded. Then, the first period was over, and we moved on to the second period, where we discussed landforms and water bodies in Asia.
When everything was over, the cleaners came in to clean up the classroom. Some students helped by sweeping and arranging the chairs, while others pulled out after finishing. After they cleaned up, my Cooperating teacher made the children line up so they could go out and go home. It was a great day at school, and I learned a lot from my Cooperating teacher. She was patient, kind, and knowledgeable, and I couldn't wait to observe more of her lessons in the future.
