DIVERSITY OF LEARNERS
DIVERSITY OF LEARNERS
As a field study student, I believe that diversity of learners is a crucial aspect of education. During my observation, I encountered students from different backgrounds and cultures and with varying abilities, which made it essential for me to be knowledgeable in this area. It is the third area of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers, and it is composed of five strands: understanding the students, setting learning goals, changing how I teach, tailoring lessons, and using appropriate positive discipline.
Being knowledgeable in the diversity of learners allows me to see and meet my students' needs, hobbies, and skills. I can create a welcoming and positive learning environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and driven to learn. I can set realistic and appropriate learning goals for each student and adjust my teaching methods to cater to their learning styles and abilities.
It is important to note that every student has unique needs and learning styles, and my responsibility as a teacher is to create a supportive environment that allows all students to thrive. By doing so, I can help my students achieve their full potential and prepare them for success in the future.
