WEEK 1
deployment day
deployment day
It was an early morning, and I arrived at Ramona S. Trillana High School at precisely 8:00 am, as Sir. Israel Saguinsin instructed. Upon entering the main gate, the school guard and other teachers greeted me with a smile. As I waited for the head teacher at the school, my friends and I started chatting about our lives.
Finally, the head teacher arrived and called the student and preservice teachers by major. She asked us where we were from to know which campuses we would be assigned. After the conversation, I proceeded to the Extension campus with the head teacher of social studies, Mam Vhie.
Mam Vhie informed me that my Cooperating teacher was Mam Andrelie and handed me her schedule. We discussed the possibility of me having some duties, and we agreed that Tuesday would be the best day for me to attend her class. I could complete my hours by attending her class every Wednesday. Everything was settled.
Unfortunately, I didn't participate in a class that day because I was deployed at almost 12, and my cooperating teacher didn't have a schedule then. She said I should come back by next week so I could start. As I walked home, a tricycle driver greeted me and said good afternoon, ma'am. I didn't notice him immediately and felt guilty for my attitude that day. From that moment, I made a conscious effort to be more present in my surroundings and to treat everyone with kindness and respect. It was a small lesson, but an important one nonetheless.
