MUS06 Spotlight on Music VA
(Course Optional for Grade 6 students)
In Music 6, students complete weekly lessons that survey the Baroque to Modern musical eras. Students examine some of the influential composers from these eras. Students listen, analyze, and reflect on different types of music in a music listening journal. Students have the opportunity to attend optional class connect sessions to play music games, learn body percussion, and other fun activities.
MUS07 Spotlight on Music VA
(Course Optional for Grade 7 students)
In Music 7, students complete weekly lessons that survey music from all over the world. Students listen and reflect on different styles of music in a music listening journal. Students gain a foundation in music reading by learning to play the glockenspiel. Students have an opportunity to join class connect sessions to practice music reading, learn about music composition, and other fun activities.
MUS08 Spotlight on Music VA
(Course Optional for Grade 8 students)
In Music 8, students continue to develop their basic skills of music, developing music literacy through reinforcement of music reading, writing, and application. Students will learn to play the ukulele using asynchronous lessons and live classes. Students listen and reflect on a variety of musical styles and artists in a music journal. Students can attend optional class connect sessions to practice, share, and collaborate.
