Middle School Career Explorations
(Course required for all Grade 6, 7, and 8 students)
In grades 6, 7, and 8, students are required to complete a Career Explorations unit in alignment with the Virginia Department of Education standards. The curriculum guides students through the process of researching, evaluating, and learning about various career options to identify potential paths that align with their interests, skills, and values. It includes self-assessment activities and exploration of different industries and job roles. The goal is to help students discover areas of personal interest and begin thinking about future career possibilities. To emphasize the importance of this requirement, students in each grade will complete a graded assignment to assess their understanding. This assignment will be marked as pass/fail on their report card.
