the details
Our volunteers work one on one with clients and help them complete their income taxes. Not only will you gain valuable experience but you will also gain tax knowledge, which will become very handy when you take Tax I after your first year.
Volunteers are required to attend a training session where they will learn the skills necessary to do low income tax returns. Then, volunteers are required to complete a certification process and will be able to obtain pro bono credits for time spent completing the certification process.
Training is conducted early January and the clinic begins shortly after.
Scheduling
Fall is usually pretty slow for the VITA program, but there will be an information session towards the end of the semester in order to get any questions answered.
