The details
Volunteering at the Consumer Clinic is a fantastic learning opportunity. At the Clinic, law student volunteers have the chance to develop critical legal skills and network with other law students, paralegals, and attorneys. Volunteers will get significant client contact as well as hands-on legal experience preparing various legal documents.
Law student volunteers assist with the client intake process, drafting of pleadings, drafting discovery documents, factual and legal investigation, motion practice, advocating in court proceedings, community outreach, researching relevant legal issues, and preparing for trial.
Volunteers will get the chance to work with attorneys in consumer protection, specifically in areas such as debt defense, identity theft, FDCPA violations, unfair business practices, and auto fraud among others.
