What does Commencement/graduation mean to you?
Graduation means the world to me. Being first-generation breaks the educational barrier in my family, while being the first-born daughter and granddaughter brings much pride to myself and my entire bloodline.

Graduation means the world to me. Being first-generation breaks the educational barrier in my family, while being the first-born daughter and granddaughter brings much pride to myself and my entire bloodline.
Did you have to overcome any difficult challenges during your education to make it to graduation? If so, what were they?
I overcame many complex challenges during my education here at NLU, like being in and overcoming an abusive relationship, dealing with disordered eating, surviving my anxiety and depression, and beating all other odds of being a low-income first-generation Latina student.

My experience at NLU has been enriching, as it has provided me with doors to opportunities I do not believe would have been accessible without being here at NLU.

After graduation, I plan to attend law school to earn my Juris Doctorate Degree.
