BA: Elementary Education
Graduation marks a significant milestone in my life & my career. I feel empowered & excited to have finally completed this journey for my husband, my children & my family.
Trying to finish college was a struggle for me after high school. In the hardest time of my life I was blessed with the surprise of my daughter, Peyton. After having her I knew I needed to get back to school to rediscover myself for her future. With the help of my husband & high school sweetheart, I went back to school & shortly after had my son, Cameron. This created another pause in my educational journey as I took the time to focus on my children. In addition, my husband & I shared a car for the last 7 years. With no way to get to school due to the fact that my husband needed to provide for our family & have the car most of the day; I did some research & found NLU. NLU provided me with the opportunity to complete my degree almost 100% online! This opportunity changed my life. I have been able to focus on my children & complete my degree. While it has been busy, the opportunity that NLU provided to my family & I has been life changing. My children have watched me work hard toward my dreams. I can’t wait for them to see me walk across the stage. This journey has been 10 years in the making, but thanks to NLU I was finally able to get it done!
My experience at NLU has been life changing. The opportunity to complete my courses online is the only reason I am able to graduate. I feel so grateful for their program & all of the amazing professors/mentors I have gained along the way. Even though my classes have been online, I have felt connected & involved with the university experience. My professors are equally as dedicated to me as they would be any other student regardless of the fact that I attend online. I have built long lasting relationships with staff & students that have been invaluable to my life. Thank you NLU & every staff member who has had a helping hand in my success.
I am currently in the process of accepting an elementary education job at the school I spent time observing & completing my practicum/student teaching at.
