All first year residents move in on the same day - known as Welcome Saturday. It's a busy day of getting you settled in your room and familiar with the UC campus. It's also a chance to grab some UC merch, enjoy ice-breaker games and activities and attend induction presentations. This day kicks off the Orientation (O-Week) program.

Welcome Saturday is a busy day, and you will be required to move your belongings through the College quickly to ensure traffic flow and avoid bottlenecks. As a result, we strongly recommend that you give extra consideration to packing your belongings prior to your arrival.
Use wheeled suitcases/large plastic storage tubs (about 50L and max. height of 30cms), ideally with wheels. With limited lift access, many parts of the College are only accessible by stairs. Suitcases are generally most well suited for this purpose.
Storage tubs can be kept under beds or in wardrobes providing convenient additional storage space in your room. They will also stack nicely onto our compact trolleys, which will be available for your use upon arrival.

printer - we have one for you!
kettle and fridge - each floor has a small kitchenette with both a kettle and a fridge. Personal appliances such as these have not been appropriately tested and tagged so are a possible fire risk.
TVs and Fridges are not allowed and will be removed by the College. The Junior Common Room and Senior Common Room feature TVs, and, there are plenty of other ways to entertain yourself at UC!
Large pieces of personal furniture (shelves, drawers and couches) are NOT permitted
The College has a collection of drying racks that we are able to provide on a first in best dressed basis. Therefore, we recommend waiting until you have moved in to UC before purchasing your own
