Room points are points that are awarded for involvement in college life (i.e. participating in a sporting event, helping out on Open Day or being in a leadership role), which are used to determine the order of room allocations for returners.
That means, the more points you collect in your first year, the better chance you have of getting the room of your choice in your second year.
The more points you have, the better chance you have to get the room of your choice. If you and another resident have preferenced the same room, the one with more points will get it!
There's a variety of ways to earn points. The primary ways are taking on a leadership role, by helping out the marketing team or by being an active member of the community - more examples are below.

Speak at your high school about UC
Share your testimonials or complete surveys
Help with UC social content such as TikTok
Get involved in UC photoshoots or videoshoots to promote the college
Join a UC sports team
Submit an entry in Art, Music and Design week
Get a role in the UC annual music production
