The College is not responsible for theft or damage of a resident’s personal belongings. Insurance to cover theft or damage of personal property is the responsibility of each resident.
There are a number of medical providers in the area, as well as public hospitals, some of which bulk bill. Some students may choose to have private health insurance if they don’t want to rely on the public health care system in the case of illness or injury.
Resident Tutors and College staff are trained in basic first aid only. If they believe a resident is seriously ill or injured, they have been advised to err on the side of caution and call an ambulance. The cost of the ambulance will be forwarded to the resident. It is recommended that residents have Ambulance Cover. If you have private health insurance, please check with your provider if you have ambulance cover as not all health insurance policies include this.
