Welcome to the UaKU Puppy Training Program!
These disciplines are for puppies between the ages of 3-9 months. We have referenced the AKC S.T.A.R program and added a few other things.Â
Puppy must tolerate without aggression and accept calmly the new factors.
(1 headshot, 1 halfbody per the set is allowed)
ET- Equipment Tolerance (collar or body harness of ownerâs choice)
FB- Food Behaviour (food taken away)
TB- Toy Behaviour (toy taken away)
PT- People Trigger (reaction to interaction with people)
KT- Kid Trigger (reaction to interaction with kids)
DT- Dog Trigger (other dogs)
PT- Puppy Trigger (other puppies)
NT- Noise Trigger (loud noises)
OT- Object Trigger (new unfamiliar objects like umbrella, jacket, packet)
TT- Touch Trigger (the owner being able to hug or hold the pups depending on the size)
ET- Examination Trigger (allowing another person to check the teeth, touch the dog after the ownerâs allowance)
Puppy must tolerate without aggression and accept calmly the new factors
Trigger Resistance- calmly behaving and reacting to noises, people, new smells, other dogs, etc.
Restriction Tolerance- ability to behave and calmly accepting waiting in the cage/in one place for a long time.
Basic Obedience- âsitâ, âstayâ, âwaitâ, or at least being able to listen to the owner and behave without trying to escape.
Leash Behaviour- accepting the show leash without pulling on it, chewing it, trying to twist out of it.
-the size of the obstacles that became smaller, smaller equipment, no high jumps
-lesser distance
-more time for work and reaction
-no "hard work" titles that require pulling, dragging, or other work that the puppy is not capable of doing
-no attacks on game, only tracking, barking and showing braveness, drive, interest, etc
Sets with 5 titles: 1 headshot, 1 halfbody per the set is allowed
Sets with 5+ titles: 2 headshots, 1 halfbody per the set is allowed
