TROOP 4 insight into 2023 – 2024 DUES & BUDGET :
Our Troop does not seek a treasury “ balance” any year.
Our goal is to have Troop funds that cover the annual
expenses after paying the Scout’ yearly registrations.
( see details at the bottom of page 2 )
As Scoutmaster I do not want our Scouts fund raising
either door to door, through parental efforts at work,
with relatives , in the neighborhood , etc.
In this age it can be unsafe + requires a few parents to put in a significant effort & time ordering the correct amount of a product, dealing with missing or damaged goods, receiving & handling cash, etc. ( Some of you have
probably already had such a memorable experience….)
I like to say, “ Unlike the Federal Gov’t, we establish our minimal needs, collect the “dues” & then live within
our means “.
Beyond that budget, Troop 4 expenditures accrue on
a family basis: hike gear & food, uniform & badges, and attendance at summer Scout Camp Waubeeka ( which we attend together in July as a Troop with our own Alumni & Leaders ).
Uniforms can be purchased at a Scout Store or online.
Troop 4 also has a unique opportunity: we maintain
a Troop 4 Uniform Exchange ( started by our Eagle Scout
candidate about 50 years ago ! ). If we have any Scout shirt, shorts, or long pants that fit you are welcome to them at no charge. Outgrow them & donate them back.
