BEFORE YOU GO TO-DO LIST ITEMS
The University Partners Program is designed to help our students create a strong connection with their Italian peers at different local universities in Rome.
A curricular component of each Italian language course, all of our students are paired with an Italian University Partner for the semester. Together with their UPs, each student will spend 20-25 hours off campus, discovering the city and hanging out with young Italians.
Activities with Ups might include sitting at a café and chatting, visiting an art exhibition or opening, going to a soccer match, discovering spots where other university students hang out in Rome, discovering less touristy neighborhoods, attending events organized by student associations, going out for dinner with UPs and friends or cooking together.
Past students have really enjoyed the experience, finding it to be a very effective way of meeting their Italian peers and having a more immersive experience while in Rome. The experience has also helped them to improve their language skills, broaden their knowledge of the local culture, and last but not least, make friends.
I enjoyed spending time with the University Partners because...
I was able to explore parts of Rome that I wouldn't have explored or known about without them.
I had the chance to learn about the Italian culture from someone who is around the same age as me.
I liked how they were open to ideas and were always enthusiastic with sharing ideas.
It was nice getting to know them so they could take us places in Rome we never would have gone to and taught us thing we never would have known.
Make sure you give your contacts - phone number, email, etc. - to your UPs and get theirs, too, on your first meeting: it will be easier to start exploring the city and to get to know each other right away.
Share your schedule as soon as possible: if you know each other's weekly plans, scheduling activities and outings with the UPs becomes very easy.
Planning activities with your UPs week by week starting from your first days in Rome is the best way to enjoy your time with the University Partners.
Use the University Partner Activities online form to submit your UP hours, it will only take you a couple of minutes! Make sure you submit your hours regularly, every week, so it's easier to keep track of what you've done&when!
Every Italian course has its assigned University Partners; you can also submit the hours for the activities you do on Friday afternoon with the Ups that will be there for the TAVOLA ITALIANA: they'll be with us at lunch and after that will be available to explore the city and plan activities with you. You can find the online form here -> https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=aqDNptlSckauH_b5yfFON1LSTsHPti5AhtYUVv5hZlVUN0FLV1o1M1FaQ0VFRjlGWktUTFhCUjdOOC4u
CULTURAL TIP: when Italians text you or send you an email, they expect an answer! It is considered very rude and offensive here if you don't text back, so make sure you always answer when the UPs get in touch with you via email, whatsapp or texts.
Going out with the University Partners in very small groups or individually is a great way to create stronger connections and to get to know them better. It is also easier to plan things involving 2/3 people, rather than 7 or 8.
VERY IMPORTANT: for activities organized by TCRC (dinners, onsite visits, trips, outings to museums or exhibitions) you cannot submit the hours for University Partner Activities even if the UPs come along.
The University Partners are always happy to hear your suggestions on activities to do together, so feel free to ask them about places you would like to visit or things you would like to do in Rome.
Your feedback is very important: send us an email or stop by the office to talk about the University Partner Program anytime!
Ultimo, ma non meno importante: parlate in italiano!

Hello everyone!
I’m Flavia and I’m 21. All my life I’ve lived in a small city by the sea, close to Rome. Though I must admit it's a wonderful place to live, I sometimes feel limited by this little bubble and have always dreamed of visiting the world. I’ve travelled to Europe several times living some important experiences that have really helped me grow, but there is so much more I would like to see. My curiosity for different cultures and a passion for languages led me to start a fascinating academic career. I study linguistic and intercultural mediation, which is the perfect subject to satisfy my hunger for knowledge because it gives me so many opportunities to meet new people from all around the world. This has also helped me with my shyness! Now I feel more confident about myself and I can’t wait to make new friends.
This is another reason why I have decided to undertake this amazing experience with you, the hope that we can learn something from one another and enrich ourselves. I hope to share with you all the deep love I feel for the extremely rich Italian culture, with its art, music, history and traditions. And maybe also hang out and have fun. I hope to see you all very soon and have an amazing time together!

Hi everyone!
My name is Arianna Scardocci and I’m 21 years old. I live in a small village near Rome and, at the moment, I’m a university student enrolled in “Linguistic and Cultural Mediation” at LUMSA University in Rome. I consider myself a fairly determined and proactive person. Moreover, even if I’m quite reserved, I can be a very friendly and talkative person, especially in the most awkward situations. I’m passionate about languages and what I really like the most is reading classics of world literature. My favourite novels probably are “Pride and Prejudice” and “Little Women”; even though it is very hard for me to select the best one. In addition, I’m keen on TV series and movies in their original languages. Undoubtedly, the best TV show ever is “Friends”, little bit old, but always captivating because it makes me crack up.
To conclude, one thing I can’t stand is getting bored and sure enough I’m always ready to experience something new!
Bye for now and see you soon!

Hi everyone!
My name is Vincenzo and I am 23 years old. I am originally from Sicily, but I’ve been living in Rome since 2018. I am currently studying Languages and literatures at Sapienza University and I caught the opportunity to do my internship at Trinity College Rome Campus as soon as I saw it. I have always had a high interest towards English and Spanish languages, two cultures I fell in love with; but unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to move to an English or Spanish speaking country (I mean not yet!).
Since I was younger I’ve been studying different kinds of dance, but after the pandemic I thought that it would be a great idea to start classes at an acting school soon after graduation. This is one of my great passions in life: cinema. I am a huge fan of American movies as it gives me the opportunity to know more about your culture.
Music is another passion of mine and I like doing different kinds of sport. I am so excited to meet and talk with all of you especially since I’m really fascinated by your country and culture and I hope I can make you appreciate Italy, a country that I’m sure you will always bring in your heart. Are you ready to become true professionals at making pasta? Let the journey begin!

I’m Giulia Valentini, I’m 21 years old and I’m one of the University Partners at Trinity College Rome Campus.
I live in Ariccia, a town located in Castelli Romani (near Rome), but I was born in Marino (the Castelli Romani area is formed by different towns/small cities which are very close to each other).
I have always enjoyed traveling, discovering new cultures and making new friends, that’s why I chose to study languages in high school (German, French and English) and I’ve decided to continue my studies at Sapienza, one of the most important universities in Rome, where I study French and Russian.
Since I was a child I’ve always been into music, so I took dance classes and then decided to start singing and taking acting lessons as well.
I don’t have a favorite music genre because I really listen to everything and I choose my music depending on my moods (classic rock, pop, blues, country, soul, rap...etc.), but some of my favorite singers and bands are Arctic Monkeys, Mumford and Sons, Labrinth, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Silk Sonic, The Lumineers, Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Macklemore, Paolo Nutini... and the list could go on forever.
In my free time, I also enjoy watching movies and tv series. I can’t wait to meet you and hang out with you! See you soon.

I currently live in Rome because I study here, but I grew up in Southern Italy, in Calabria. I love living in Rome, it’s always full of drama, but most of all I love how this city is filled with culture, you learn everyday new things about it and you never get tired of it.
I love traveling, one of my biggest dreams is to travel the world, that’s why I’m trying to learn as many languages as possible. I also love watching tv series and I’m an animal lover.

I’m a really curious person and I love to make new experiences and see new things, that’s why I consider myself lucky to live in a city such as Rome where it is impossible not to have new adventures. I can’t wait to meet you all and to help you explore this wonderful city.

Ciao! My name is Francesco Saverio. I am 22 years old. I am a student at La Sapienza University where I study Languages, Cultures, Literatures and Translation. I am the seventh of ten children, and I have a twin.
I would like to become an high school French professor, because I love to work with teenagers and I think that this language is underrated, therefore I would love to be the “cause” of somebody’s change of mind.
I love to travel everywhere: until today I have travelled a lot, mostly in Europe, yet every new place interests me, so I am going to travel more, and as soon as the pandemic calms down a bit I would love to go to Australia and spend some time there.
I also love music: in my family we all play an instrument because my father has handed down to all of us this passion, I have played the flute since I was 9 years old, I can play a little the piano and I have some basic notions of guitar.
