During check-in at your airport of departure in the United States you will be required to provide the following documents before boarding:
Negative results from a Molecular PCR test carried out 72 hours prior to your time of entry in Italy or an antigenic test carried out within 24 hours prior to your entry into Italy. In the case of arrivals from the UK and Northern Ireland and British Isles, the molecular swab must be taken in the 48 hours prior to entering Italy.
Your CDC vaccination card with the CDC logo (digital or paper copy). PLEASE NOTE: it is very important that you bring the original copy of this document with you to Italy.
Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF), which can be filled out online https://app.euplf.eu/. View instructions on how to do this HERE
IMPORTANT: please contact your specific airline to confirm all requirements for travel to Italy.
Once you have landed at the Rome Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino (FCO), you will go through passport control if coming directly from the United States. Students who arrive via other European Union airports will go through immigration at their first stop before taking the connection to Rome.
After that, you will go to baggage claim and exit the airport following the very clearly marked signs for the taxi line. This exit will be straight in front of you as you exit the baggage claim area. When you exit the airport, you will see a Rome campus staff member holding a blue and yellow Trinity College Rome Campus sign. He/she will accompany you to campus in a private van/bus.
If you are arriving by train to Rome, please contact Rome Campus director, Stephen Marth, to make arrangements to be picked up at the station. Stephen.marth@trincoll.edu
If you intend to arrive before the beginning of the program and you need assistance or help, you can contact any member of the staff.
You will be welcomed by the Rome staff.
Our staff will help you find your room.
After putting your things down, you will undergo a rapid antigenic COVID test.
If you are arriving in the morning, you will have time to settle in and maybe take a nap.
Students arriving in the afternoon will drop their luggage off, have a bite to eat at Casa Publicii and join the rest of the group for orientation, which starts at 1:00 with lunch at Casa Publicii.
During the first week of the program, the program director and other program staff will provide you with a comprehensive on-site orientation that will give you information on your program location, culture, academics, internships and health and safety. Through group outings and discussions, students are introduced to the host country and provided with tools for a safe and successful semester. Orientation is also a time to review program objectives and develop relationships within the student group. Please note: all orientation activities are mandatory for all students.
