Big Change!Β
From now on, you cannot send messages that are too short or too long in relation to the message from the user ("red" length messages)
Why was the length indicator added? π€
When users receive messages that are too short or too long compared to their own, the Reply Rate (RR) tends to drop. Also users tend to answer less π
Think about it:
If you write a couple of words and get a huge block of text in return, it feels overwhelming.
If you write a full message and only get a one-word reply with an emoji, it feels dismissive.
Not great, right? π
This is what we have added the length indicator to MCH! π
π«
Our study found that users are more likely to respond if the length of your message is approximately the same as theirs.
Hereβs why:
Consistency: Messages that mirror the user's length feel more natural and engaging.
Comfort: It creates a comfortable flow of conversation, making users more likely to continue chatting.
So, always aim to match the length of your messages with the user's to keep the conversation going, improve your RR π and get more replies! πΈ
When does the length indicator turn red?
βοΈ
1οΈβ£ If the user's message contains less than 10 characters or if the user sends a photo/gift/card, then:
If your response is less than 10 characters or more than 50 characters, the indicator will turn red β and you will not be able to send the message (you will need to make it longer/shorter and then send it).
βοΈ
π
Examples:
π« wrong, this message constitutes 8 symbols.
β right, this message constitutes 41 symbols, that's within the 10-50 message limit.
π
β
2οΈβ£ If the user's message contains more than 10 characters:
If your response is 3 times shorter or 3 times longer, the length indicator will turn red β (you will need to shorten or lengthen the message).
Examples:
π« wrong, this message is too short.
π« wrong, this message is too long.

Β Β Β Β How to avoid the red length indicator?
1οΈβ£ Write messages of roughly equal length from the chatter if he wrote a message longer than 10 characters:
β
2οΈβ£ Write more then 10 and less then 50 characters if your chatter wrote the short message (less then 10 charecters):

What to do if the selected message from the co-pilot has a red indicator?
TO EDIT IT!
π
πͺ
We noticed that many of you are having difficulties with the co-pilot messages.
If you select a response from the co-pilot and the length indicator turns red, you need to edit it.
Please remember to use the co-pilot to ensure it does not negatively impact your statistics.

The limit on the message is sufficient in the vast majority of cases.
But if the user writes you a very short message and you feel that a short response is not enough, you can respond with two messages.
Important! Make sure that this is an active chat and that you will receive a reply. Otherwise, two messages without a response will significantly hurt your RR.

Examples:
π« wrong, this chat is a new one, you can't be sure you will receive a response.
β it's a long chat and we know we're gonna get a response.

What to do if the user writes a short follow-up message?
We follow the same principle here: if the conversation is active, we can send two consecutive messages.
Examples:
π« wrong, this chat is a new one, you can't be sure you will receive a response.
β it's a long chat and we know we're gonna get a response.
We remind you how important it is to write good messages, and good messages are good if they are written in context, grammatically correct, contain CTA and empathy!Β π«
Now it is an experiment and this update is not available in every chat.
