Toyota VIP RS3000 Plus Security Upgrade for Vehicles with Factory Keyless Entry
The VIP RS3000 Plus is the precursor to the VIP RS3200 Plus. Not a whole lot is known about this particular variant at the moment, but what I can tell so far is that this system was available from the very late 90s to the very early 2000s for Toyota vehicles with factory keyless entry and without factory security.
This used the same stickers as the VIP RS3000.
In addition, the status indicator and GBS microphone is the same as the one used in the VIP RS3000:
The casing of the system ECU claims that it is the "VIP RS2000", but if you look inside at the circuit board, it's nothing more than a modified RS3000 unit.
If you enter your VIN on the Toyota Owners VIN lookup site, you'll see some variation of this listed in the PORT OR FACTORY INSTALLED EQUIPMENT list:
Or at least you used to be able to. Toyota recently overhauled their website, which locked the VIN lookup to only users with Toyota Owners accounts. Even after logging in, some of the functionality seems to have been broken. No matter how many port or factory installed equipment a vehicle has, the website you only show you one, and usually the last in the list. I tried telling Toyota about this issue, but either I wasn't clear enough in my wording or they just didn't understand, the issue never got fixed.
Documentation for this system is pretty much nonexistent, save for a few discussions on various forums and a listing for a "VIP RS3000 Plus" genuine Toyota accessory that was recently taken down. From what I can gather, the VIP RS3000 Plus has no wireless remote functionality whatsoever and seems to come with passive arming enabled by default, but other than that, functions identically to a standard VIP RS3000.
Another use of the "TVIP V5 - VIP RS3000 Plus" name was for vehicles like the 1st generation Toyota Tundra, in which early model years used a stripped-down RS3000 unit as a keyless entry system. The upgrade kit to enable the security portion of the RS3000 was named "VIP RS3000 Plus" to add to the confusing monikers and complex VIP system timelines.
