1st generation VIP Systems

From 1996 to 1999*, the first generation VIP System lineup consisted of three main models:

• KE - VIP Keyless Entry System

• V1 - VIP S1000 Key Operated Security System

• V3 - VIP RS3000 Remote Controlled Security System

  • V4 - VIP RS3000 Security System with Trunk Release

  • V5 - VIP RS3000 Plus Security Upgrade for Vehicles with Factory Keyless Entry

For the 1999 model year, KE and V1 were discontinued, V4 and V5 were added, leaving just the VIP RS3000 as the only VIP System available. 

*: Most vehicle models switched to the 2nd generation VIP Systems for the 2000 model year. Certain models retained the RS3000 into the early noughties, among them the Corolla, Tacoma, and Tundra.
