Remote Engine Starter (RES)

For select 2000s Toyota, Lexus, and Scion models, a VIP Remote Engine Starter was available as an add-on accessory. 

This system integrates with the keyless entry, utilizing the lock button for control.

If you enter your VIN on the Toyota Owners VIN lookup site, you'll see this listed in the PORT OR FACTORY INSTALLED EQUIPMENT list:

To remote start the engine, press the lock button on the key fob two times, and then hold on the last press. This starts the engine. Note that once any door is opened, the engine shuts off as a safety measure.
