The audiences believed that the Netflix series at least deserved a Daybreak Season 2. They believed that the show needed more time to prove itself. Daybreak is a Netflix Original post-apocalyptic comedy-drama on a comic book series of the same name Brian Ralph.
It takes on a quirky view of the apocalypse. The show, even though based on the comics, has an entirely different feel to it. Even though the show is rather dark, it’s not as dark as the comic. Daybreak Season 2 Story
The dark comedy focuses on Josh Wheeler. He is 17 years old and an outcast in high school. He is looking for his girlfriend; Sam Dean. Their romance gets decimated along with California when nukes destroy civilization. In his search for Sam, Josh is joined by a diverse group of misfits.
The group includes Josh’s former bully Wesley, who has become a pacifist samurai. It also includes a 10-year-old pyromaniac named Angelica. Together they try to survive waves of Ghoulies, which can be broadly classified as zombies.
The Cast
If however unlikely, the series does return, we can expect the following members of the cast to reprise their roles. We do know some of them are no longer there (but no spoilers!). However, it is a post-apocalyptic world so people can come back to the memories of certain characters. This has been done in other shows many times. The Petition
Fans had started a petition for Daybreak Season 2. The audience was absolutely furious when they found out that there won’t be a second season. The petitions stated, “Daybreak is an amazing show with a great cast and incredible fanbase. Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger and fans want to know what happened”.
Daybreak Season 2 Release Date
As of now, there is absolutely no chance that Season 2 will become a reality. The co-creator and executive producer of the show, Aron Coleite tweeted on December 17. 2019 that Daybreak will not be coming back for a second season.
That’s pretty solid evidence in favor of no renewal and no release date. However, if that does change, we will let you know. The petition does give hope to the fans as a result of signatures being added. They’re being added slowly but steadily. Since the show was left on a cliffhanger, fans do want closure. The first season is available on Netflix.
