Will Horimiya Have a Season 2?

Horimiya or Hori-san to Miyamura-kun is a web manga made by Hiroki Adachi. It was self-published on his website called Dokkai Ahen from 2007 up to 2011. Daisuke Hagiwara decided to adapt the manga with the title Horimiya. The adapted manga was serialized in Monthly G Fantasy and an English version was released by Yen Press.

It was eventually adapted into an anime by CloverWorks in January 2021. With its popularity, a live-action and even a TV drama were released in the same year. Fans are now wondering if there will be a second season. Here is everything we know.

Will Horimiya Have a Season 2?

A season 2 for Horimiya might not be possible considering that the show was not renewed for season 2. The first season also covered all the main points in the manga until the last chapter which is chapter 122. The last episode of the series covered graduation day which is also what the last chapter of the manga is about.

Since there is no longer a source material to follow, the chance of having a second season is slim. There is also a possibility that the production studio will continue the series with a new plot that cannot be found in the manga. Fans would have to wait for a further announcement regarding this.

About Horimiya

Horimiya follows Koyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura. Hori is a popular and smart girl while Miyamura is an introverted guy who is usually outcasted by his classmates. They are in the same class but with their social status, they barely interact at all. But things changed when Miyamura came to Hori’s house one day with her brother.

The two of them discovered that they have different personalities in school and outside school. Kyoko dresses down, unlike her usual look at school, and does household chores for her family while Miyamura has a punk style and adventurous life. After discovering their secret personalities, the two become close until they developed feelings for each other.

The series also talks about their relationships with friends and other classmates in school. Miyamura’s past is also explained in the series and gave viewers a side of what happens to kids who are left out in school.
