Folha de Sala / Curatorial Project Description:  

“A partir desse dia....acabou a guerra colonial... acabou a ditadura”.

Foi uma das expressões que emergiu dos inúmeros testemunhos recolhidos a propósito das mudanças trazidas pelo 25 de abril de 1974.

A Partir Deste Dia...  reúne um conjunto de materiais que dão corpo ao processo de pesquisa, realizado na Unidade Curricular de Organização e Produção de Eventos, lecionada ao 2º ano da Licenciatura em Animação Sociocultural.

Num processo de natureza participativa que se estendeu à comunidade, as diferentes vozes (de quem viveu a revolução e de quem nasceu depois) entrecruzam-se através da palavra e da imagem. 

A colagem e a instalação assumem-se como estratégias plásticas,  visando inscrever no espaço arquitetónico os diferentes testemunhos, tornando-os presenças materiais da memória, vivências e representações.

A palavra e a imagem assumem-se como metáforas quer do direito quer do dever de Memória, alicerçando uma consciência de que valores como a Liberdade, o acesso à Educação, entre outros, carecem de ser nutridos diariamente através de uma postura informada, atenta e crítica.

"From that day on.... the colonial war has ended... the dictatorship was over".

This was one of the expressions emerging from the countless testimonies collected about the changes brought about by April 25th, 1974.

From that day on...  brings together a set of materials which embody the research process carried out as part of the Events Organization and Production Curricular Unit, taught to the 2nd year of the Sociocultural Animation B.A. .

In a participatory process that reached out to the community, the different voices (of those who lived through the revolution and those who were born afterwards) intersect through words and images. 

Collage and installation were the plastic strategies used to inscribe the different testimonies in the architectural space, making them material presences of memory, experiences and representations.

The word and the image become metaphors for both the right and the duty to remember, underpinning an awareness that everyday values such as freedom and access to education, among others, need to be nurtured through an informed, attentive and critical attitude.
