Eligibility:
Childhood Onset: Birth to 26 yrs
Must have a disability or blindness at the time the account is opened, and the onset of the disability was prior to age 26.
Adult Onset: Adult 26+ yrs
A physician's letter indicating disability or severe functional limitation that was diagnosed before the age of 26, which is expected to result in death or has lasted or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 12 months, or is blind.
Individuals are not required to receive SSI or SSDI in order to open an ABLE account.
