Game: ‘Lucky Dip Talk About’ Make a list of interesting topics e.g. animals, birthdays, Spain, St. Ursula’s, LOLs, Harry Potter, etc. Cut them up and place them in a container. Close your eyes and pick one out. You must talk about this topic for 1 minute. Speak in clear sentences that make sense. You get a point for each sentence you say. You lose a point for using the words em, eh, uh, like, and so. Its great fun for all the family. If you are playing alone you could record yourself and listen back to give yourself a score.
We are very excited to be starting a new class novel this week. We have chosen 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’. It is available on ‘Audible’ as a free audiobook (just click on the picture below and then click 'start listening'). It is a long book so it will take us a few weeks to get through. We suggest listening to one chapter each day. If a chapter is very long you could spread it over two days. Go at your own pace. Your teachers will also be listening to it so let us know if you are enjoying it as we go through it.
I know some of you have already read the book. Try listening to it this time. It’s very relaxing and you will probably notice lots of things that you didn’t notice the first time round. Often, a book gets better the more times you read it.
