This is Sheila's home page.
In 1987, as "Back to the Homeplace" begins...
Sheila Gates arrived in Oak Springs with her father, Paul Gates, in early 1987. Paul Gates was the husband of Beverly Bevins. Sheila was Paul's daughter by a prior marriage, but had decided to join the family in Oak Springs.
Sheila was nineteen years old when she arrived. Jennifer Bevins described her his way: "Short skirt and knee-high white boots; dark ponytail swaying from side-to-side as she walked." Later Jennifer added: "She'd be right at home waiting tables at a honky-tonk bar."
Sheila had brought her 'little Honda" with her from Jackson, Mississippi. She enjoyed having her 'wheels' in the new small town of Oak Springs.
Here is an excerpt about Sheila first meeting Christopher and Donnie from "Back to the Homeplace" on Tuesday, February 17, 1987.
Did Sheila's "little Honda" look something like this?
