About the same length as a Pencil, this descendant of the Hummingbird Blish is the smallest of all Blish almost indistinguishable from the insects they share the sky with in the summer.
The Slime Molds are very high in sugars like the nectar that their ancestors feed on Slime Slurpers still can feed on Nectar in the winter months when they move south to more temperate forests. The Absorbent Sucker, of course, doesn't take kindly to their feeding wrapping their small strands around their tongues to defend themselves which is why Slime Slurpers have blue tongues as it lacks taste buds and most nerves.
The constant feeding on the Lichen Trees is vital for the reproduction of both Lichen Trees and Absorbent Suckers as they carry the seeds and small amounts of the Absorbent Suckers with them as they fly allowing for the growth of new trees in locations much farther away than the Terra Squids can carry them
Slime Slurpers are extremely specialized for this lifestyle they barely ever touch the ground only hanging off the side of trees. Their second and third limbs are useless for walking and they can only drag themselves on their 5th limb.
This constant movement from the Tundra to the forest and their constant need to feed has resulted in Slime Slurpers being the first Ichthyopteran since Flish to be K-selective laying clutches of up to two dozen eggs where only a few will survive to adulthood along with the fact that there incredibly short Lifespan of 3 years means they only have a few shots at breeding.
Despite this incredibly short life, Slime Slurpers are incredibly successful with the beating of their wings and the high-pitched trill of there songs filling the skies of the tundra in spring and summer.
