With the global ocean largely emptied by the Squibbion age, new creatures can exploit an ocean ecosystem at its most productive in millions of years. One of these new ocean goers is a Blish returning to being a Fish (Even if genetically they still are a weird ray-finned fish)
The Icththyo Blish is a group of pelagic Blish that have survived the Squibbion age by feeding on their refuse now with much of the ocean niches empty and the waters at their most productive as cold water churns up nutrients from lower levels of the water column causing mass swarms of krill now several species join the surviving Squaliformes in the oceanic bounty.
Ichthyo Blish are unable to fly using their reduced wings and hind limbs as flippers. Ichthyo Blish are piscivores chasing after plentiful schools of fish. Like all Blish Icththyo Blish have extendable jaws although unlike Flish their entire beak slings forward like a giant sling-jaw Wrasse. Blish can do this as their jaws are loosely connected to their skull through cranial kinesis, letting their jaws sort of fall out from their normal position. Being able to sling their jaws forward like this makes Ichthyo Blish an efficient Fish hunter the extra length of their jaws gives them a few extra seconds before fish can react.
Although Ichthyo Blish spend their entire life in the water, they must return to the land to lay their eggs. This is what keeps their population limited although they walk on all fours like other Blish their webbed feet and small wings make them very poor walkers. This poor walking makes them easy pickings for predators as such they can only nest in secluded areas. Hundreds of thousands of them nest upon the Cryptoland Islands their population is dependent on these Squid mad islands to keep it stable as the only other nesting sites are a few islands along the continent's southern coast where predators can't swim to.
Icththyo Blish nest similar to modern seabirds with one partner at sea hunting for fish well the other stays watching over their chicks after a few weeks both parents will be able to leave the nest. After a few months, the parents will stop coming to the nest and their young will then leave for the ocean we're they may spend at sea before they return to land to breed.
