The Icebox Age

The first age of the Îledescene has come to an end, ushering in dramatic climatic changes as a result of Squibbion-made machines sucking out massive quantities of greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere to the point that global temperatures have begun to cool. Glaciers form at the poles, ocean currents shut down and grasslands move into where the forest once stood as the forest follows the coastline as sea levels drop.

With the Squibbions gone, animals return to the wild where great cities once stood. Nature is once again allowed to spread uninhibited as Squid, Snails, Neotenic Shrimp, and derived Flying Fish must adapt or die to the new freezing world.

However, even with the Squibbions gone, they have already set in motion a chain of incredible events as the world grows colder and eventually warms up again. New creatures will adapt in an astonishing variety, showing that the future truly is wild.
