Their greatest feature is the bifurcated nasal crest reaching multiple feet high. A ring of muscle, an extension of their septum divides each nostril giving the impression that they have 4 of them.
The crest is supported by cartilage and is hollow on the inside like the crests of Hadrosaurs creating a pair of resonating chambers.
Without a larynx, all Tera Squid produce sound by forcing air through the nostrils and out their mouth but Parade Squid produce the loudest vocalization of any singular Invertebrate
The nasal structure and the skin around the males head are lined with chromatophores and photophores making the skin appear to glow in low light and the polarization of the light not visible to the human eye come together to create the most beautifully alien of displays.
With the pregnancy of their singular calf taking 18 months and then 3 years to mature females are very particular in mate choice leading to the increased complexity of the males nasal apparatus and songs.
