Swamped, Slammed, and Snowed Under

Club meetings, classes, community service, and not to mention maintaining relationships with family and friends can be a daunting task. Due to the higher demand of students from colleges to be well-rounded people and someone who serves their community. Students often can’t find time to balance extracurriculars and school work. Some star students do manage to miraculously find a sweet balance for all their extracurriculars and balancing school work.
Hayden Loarie (21) is a sophomore who is an extremely active student on campus and an active participant on campus. Loarie is President of Key Club, a member of National Honors society, Earth club, Academic League, and is vice president of Debate Club and is planning to join tennis in the spring season. Not only is Loarie involved in a plethora of clubs on campus but is also in numerous honors and AP classes. When asked how he avoids schedule conflicts he said he prioritizes Key Club the most because he is president, NHS at a close second, then academic league, and finally Debate Club.
“Weekdays are just a grind and I try not to procrastinate," Loarie said when asked about how he gets his work done on time. Approximately 87% of teens procrastinate on assignments. Loarie stated that he does an average of four hours of homework every night and tries to get ahead on assignments if he has time to avoid getting stressed.
