~ Paul's PVL Piano Lessons ~

Using the Piano Video Lesson course videos and materials by Canadian Piano Teacher Ms Lisa

My Introduction to the Piano Video Lessons(PVL) Piano Course

(Updated July, 2018) I discontinued taking the PLV Year Course due to finances:

Paul's Piano NEW Practice Diary I started this new diary in Nov. 2018 to replace my PVL course sheet I was using was getting huge and slow to load. I am also no longer paying for that course although I still have the materials. I am learning its basic version of 'Greensleeves'

I continue to play piano on an eMeda keyboard a friend(Jay L.) gave us to play by going through a free Piano Video Lessons(PVL) course composed of 6 units for over 6 months now. Along with the course videos I use the the Teachers .PDF ebooks that go along with it. The Teacher, Lisa has been responsive and provides tips to the course contributors in the Patreon Piano Video Lessons Community forum. She has a PianoVideoLessons App on the Play Store. She also has a studio for student private lessons and arranges workshops and recitals for them.

We have the classical guitar too, but right now I am focusing on the KB. Below is my PVL progress with the various course lessons. I will update occasionally as I finish each unit of the main PVL course.

~ SPECIAL EVENTS ~

  • May 27, 2017 - I started using Piano Video Lesson courses - On May 28 I started the main PVL Year One Course

  • July 2017 - I had the opportunity to record a video for the Teacher to review my progress. My personalized Coaching Video #1 was posted by my Teacher on YouTube

  • November 17th, 2017 on Sunday 11-11:15 am PST - I had the opportunity to have a live Bonus 15 minute mini check-up lesson from Lisa the Teacher. The live feed back was of much better value to me than the normal 5 minute video opportunity from the monthly $10 patron drawing. Lisa has made this a reoccurring feature rather than recorded videos.

  • November 27th, 2017 - My PVL 6 Month PVL Anniversary. I started learning to play the Piano using PVL on May 27th, 2017 and quickly decided it was worth it to support Lisa as a Patreon. Half a year of sticking with learning Piano. Yippee!!

  • February 12th, 2018 - I won and had another 15 min live video check-up lesson with Lisa. She noticed some improvement on'Ode to Joy' and offered several suggestions.

~ End of Year 1 and 2 of Piano Video Lessons To Date ~

Hopefully by this point I will be an adequate piano player :)

Open letter to my piano teacher:

Lisa, I personally wish to Thank you for being my piano Teacher, I have learned so much already from your Year 1 Piano Video Lessons course and .pdf course books. Your plan for an online piano course is helping so many students like me who never thought they would be able to have a REAL piano teacher who can answer questions and not just by trying to learn from just watching YouTube videos or from apps. :) From what I have learned from it already, I would definitely recommend it to others. Your student, Pallen June 26, 2017

My thoughts about Ms. Lisa and the PLV course lessons(Review)

Lisa is good with students with a kind demeanor and answers students questions well within 24-48 hours. Along with the easy to view free videos, the course materials are bite sized and easy to understand. The prices are competitive with other course materials I found. PVL has an app to make finding lesson videos convenient on an Android device. Prices are average and a good value for what PVL provides a student. PVL is always looking for new ways to add value for their students.
