About Paul

"However, I am hoping to see you soon, and we will speak face-to-face. May you have peace. The friends send you their greetings. Give my greetings to the friends"  - 3 John 1:1-14.   I look forward to meeting all my Brothers in person, this just a start at an introduction.

Let me introduce myself

I am a quiet person who enjoys association with my fellow Brothers and Sisters in our Congregation.  We try to arrive early and stay after meetings about 25-30 minutes to get all the association we can, much of it by listening to others.  Due to our health it is often all the time we get to spend with them for the entire week.  We really appreciate the tie-in when one or both of us of us can't attend physically.  Service is hard for me as I can not think on the fly and walking and standing is painful.  A real blessing that happened during the 2019 Covid out break was letter writing with allows both of us the ability to do more in service.  My presentations are rehearsed my answers are one or two sentences.  Nevertheless, it is wonderful to know that Jehovah accepts what we do, as long as it is our best.

I have been married to my wonderful Wife since October 1999.  I knew Kathy as a fellow Sister in the congregation for some 10 years.  During the time we were building our new Kingdom Hall In 1997-98 we each discovered that we had been curious about the other.  I loved how she was willing to get in there and get dirty with the Brothers rather than hang out in the Sisick's kitchen and garage that is next to the hall where the Sisters served the wonderful meals and snacks.  I had been waiting my life to find the right Sister I wanted to spend eternity with.  I was not in a rush, If I had to wait until the new system I was willing.  After all, eternity is a long time, and I want to spend it with the right mate.  We have the same interests and goals in life.  We got married at that very hall we both had a part in building as a quick build in 1997.  Our health has declined since and we are now hindered a lot from doing many things.  The new system will be a great relief to us both from great and constant pain that each of us have for different reasons and ways.  We have each been a great strength to each other to cope with this old system, we are so blessed to have each other.

We look forward to exploring many hobbies and interests and skills that we can not now, but we would love to pursue in the new system.  We also look forward to meeting all of our earth wide Brothers and Sisters in person, and working together to make this earth the paradise it was originally meant to be.  In health, without pain and sharp minds.   (Minor update 9/7/2023)

As of the the December 2023 Governing body update #8 it is now OK for Brothers to grow beards and be used in the congregation.  WOW!  It seems so weird that it is ok now.   As soon as Kathy heard the announcement on ROKU, She said Woo-hoo you can grow a beard now.  Kathy is the one who requested I grow a mustache when we got married and I was happy to try that out then, now I am ready to try a out a beard.  I downloaded Android FaceApp to see what it could look like.  I showed this first one to many Brothers at the next meeting.  All but one(cecil) who thought it made me look old, liked the look.  These beards are based on the first officer Will Riker character in ST:Next Generation.

Work history

Disabled

Disabled, 2006 - Present

I became disabled in 2006 as I can no longer work at a pace or be a reliable employee as needed for an employer.  Mornings are reliably horrible and often lead well into the afternoon and throughout the day.  I try to do what I can around our home in small spells on afternoons and evenings as I am able.  Still the same 9/7/23 but we look forward to the end.

Goodwill Electronics, 2006

I went through Voc. Rehab for four weeks at Goodwill to try to find a position I could do primarily while seated.  Because of my interest in electronics, they had me spend my time cleaning and testing  electronics in preparation to sell, while we did very little repair on items the job still took some brain power.  It was a fun job but Goodwill reported back to Voc. Rehab that I am to slow to be hirable.  I was then place on disability.  I look forward to being more active again one day.
