Due to plot reasons, or perhaps a sudden influx of new characters, the mods of The Vale have certain periods of time where people are permitted to post new characters.
Registration periods refers to points in time where members are or are not allowed to post brand new characters. While we definitely encourage people to form connections with other OC's, registration periods help prevent an influx of characters during a turbulent time in rp.
So what does this mean?
OPEN
Vale members are able to post brand new OC's when the mods open up the registration period. This will typically be between arcs, where most connections and ships are planned and created.
CLOSED
Every Vale member, except new people or mods for story reasons, are not allowed to post brand new characters. When the registration period is closed off, the only new OC's permitted to be posted are newborn kits to already established queens.
Q: Registrations are closed. When can I post a new OC?
A: The mod team will be posting announcements when registrations are closed and open. In addition, it will also be posted in the #available-ranks channel.
Q: I'm new to the server and registrations are closed. Can I still post a new OC?
A: Yes! New members and mods are the only ones allowed to post OC's during closed registrations periods.
Q: Can I ask for permission to post an OC when registrations are closed?
A: The mod team always encourages members to ask questions. You can certainly make a case for posting a new cat, but plot reasons may require us to say no.
Q: Why are kits allowed during closed registrations periods?
A: Because they are natural introduced to the setting of The Vale through their births. When we close registrations, it's strictly geared towards limiting adult, established cats in the Clans.
