Creating a brand new character is always an exciting time! These guidelines will help you learn the rules while creating them.
All characters must be approved before they can be used.
You can register your OCs in the Clan-specific channels.
There is no mandatory template, however, templates with excessive emojis or symbols are not permitted.
If you intend to use your own template, it must provide adequate information. "Unknown" or "Find out through RP" bios are not permitted; mods need to be aware of what is in your characters story to ensure it doesn't conflict with lore.
An admin will react to your character with a checkmark and/or give verbal confirmation of approval. If there is something that needs to be fixed, then an admin will tag you in the Bio Fix channel, or dm you and make requests.
Please ask before registering a Clan cat with outsider or half-Clan origins.
This is simply due to the fact that not every leader will be okay with this and we would need to make sure the circumstances are lore-accurate.
Keep cat appearances within reason.
Cat appearances are very lax here. You don’t have to have realistic designs or color combinations, but note that we do have some restrictions.
Purple, red, silver, gray, heterochromia, and coal (‘light black’) colored eyes are permitted and do not require special reasoning.
Reds, blues, yellows/golds, and pale purples/‘lavender’ will be allowed for fur colors as long as they are not extremely bright, and can naturally blend into a mildly fantastical background.
Keep names within reason.
The naming structure here will be rather lax. However, extremely outlandish names will be declined.
As expected, the use of Star is forbidden except for leader suffixes.
Moon- as a prefix is forbidden due to the sanctity of the moon in this world.
You may use Clan names as prefixes, but not within the same-name Clan. I.e., you can't have Oakpelt in OakClan, but you can have Oakpelt in StreamClan.
Clan names as suffixes are fine (Froststream in StreamClan).
Cat breeds are limited.
Servals, Caracals, Lynxes, and any other sort of exceedingly large breed of cat or any big cats are forbidden from use, even if they have diluted bloodlines.
Savannahs, Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest Cats, and Ragdolls may be upon mod discretion only, as they would need outsider origins and because these cats push the limits of what could reasonably reside in a Clan. You must ask before attempting to register one of these cats, even with diluted blood.
Average sized designer breeds like Abyssinians, ‘Folds, Bengals, and so on do not require admin permission unless their parents are outsiders (otherwise, we can just infer that small-sized designer breeds exist within the Clans).
Cat sizes must make sense.
You can have a large cat, but they would not be as large as a Maine Coon without any Maine Coon blood, for example.
Posting a cat at 5 moons or 11 moons does not guarantee a ceremony.
You still must meet the ranking up rp requirements in order to be given a ceremony.
There is no character limit.
You may post as many characters as you can handle. We do events every other month, and as long as you are able to juggle your ocs and meet the event requirements with them all, you're fine to post however many you'd like.
There is a two month cooldown on removing an oc.
Due to members in the past rapidly adding and removing characters in short periods of time, as well as wanting to encourage less "fodder" for plots and increase thoughtfulness regarding character deaths, cats have a 2 month cooldown before you may remove them from play unless otherwise permitted by a mod. Failure to comply will result in a character registration restriction.
We permit cats from all identities within the LGBTQIA+.
You don't have to ask, go for whatever you'd like. Please be educated and do your research if you are writing outside of your own identity. Mods take community comfort seriously, and if a portrayal is deemed uneducated you will be addressed.
