To assure characters are getting the development they need, the mods have certain requirements that must be met before a cat is able to rank up.
Being young and carefree definitely has its perks. Kits have no real requirements for ranking up other than being six moons. One thing we do ask is that your kit is part of at least one thread before becoming an apprentice. This will help establish their personality and who they bond with. You're obviously allowed much more threads, but one is the minimum before being apprenticed.
Training to be a warrior is a longer and more committed process. As an apprentice, you must show that you're honing your skills and helping your Clan through training and interacting with others.
The minimum amount of training threads required is one complete thread with your mentor that displays your apprentice's skills and devotion to being a warrior. This thread can involve other apprentices or warriors, but it must be about your apprentice learning something and putting it to use.
Another requirement is at least one thread of your apprentice interacting with their Clanmates. This could be about anything - a secret night out with your denmates, cleaning the nursery and playing with kits, or even getting scared off by a fox that came out of nowhere.
If you've met these requirements, then your apprentice is ready to become a warrior!
Warrior assessment threads aren't a requirement, but if you'd like one, you can talk about it with your mentor.
Medicine cats are considered to be high ranks, and therefore require more activity and more threads. If you've been chosen as a medicine cat apprentice, you'll already be aware of this requirement. This expectation will carry out through your apprenticeship into becoming a full medicine cat.
The first requirement is at least one complete thread of your apprentice learning and handling herbs. It could be something as simple as going out and collecting herbs, or having your mentor teach you the differences. This thread doesn't have to be solely about the herbs - other things can happen during this thread. The main point is for your apprentice to learn about them.
The second requirement is at least two complete threads where it shows your apprentice using this knowledge on others. Healing a scratch, supervising a kitting, binding a sprained paw - anything that showcases your apprentice applying their new skills in a meaningful way.
If you've met these requirements, your apprentice is eligible for their full medicine cat name! You must have a thread of you and your mentor going to the Starlight Cavern to receive your name. This could be a one-on-one thread, or a medicine cat meeting.
In the event that a deputy becomes leader, dies, or retires, the next deputy will be chosen by the Clan leader.
There aren't any thread requirements like the ones stated above. Any warrior will be eligible for the role, whether it's a pre-existing warrior, or a cat you created solely for the audition.
However, mods will give priority to already-existing warriors, as they have been in the roleplay for longer and have more connections. Furthermore, if you've proven to be active in the group and can handle more responsibility, your chances of being chosen will increase.
