The Vale shares the a similar code as is shown in canon Warriors. However, small changes have been made to accommodate the lore. Aspects of the code may change through roleplay.
Defend your Clan, even if at the cost of your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassers.
Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have fed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
Respect is to be given to those older, or those in higher positions, and especially their leader. Apprentices are expected to respect mentors, warriors their leaders, and so on. Cats may be consequence for disrespect as deemed fit.
Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name and watch over their Clan. They may spend their first day as a warrior resting.
A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires, or is exiled. After the death, retirement, promotion (to a leader status), or exile of the deputy, the new deputy must be picked within three sunrises.
A Gathering of all three Clans is held once a season or as otherwise deemed fit, beneath a truce that lasts for one night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
Cats are expected obey their leader. Their word is the warrior code. Cats may challenge a weak or cruel leader if their Clan is in danger.
An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
Medicine cats may only have a mate and/or kits if there is another fully trained medicine cat in the Clan.
War may only be declared by the Clan leader. Brutality may be met with equal or greater force - if one Clan incites war with another, whatever means necessary are permitted by either side to end it.
No Clan may claim the Voidlands as their own, as they are to be used by all in times of hardship. A Clan that does this is outside of the code, and must be confronted by the other Clans.
ADDITIONAL RULES
Kits must stay in camp until they are apprenticed, and are not allowed to hunt or practice serious battle moves until they are made a ‘paw.
The safety of the Clan as a whole is more important than the safety of one cat. This especially applies to leaders.
Cats must not eat before going to meet StarClan.
