The Velar's ranks are mostly made up of races with long lifespans. This is due to the fact that The Creator believes that being a member of The Velar is in the most basic sense, eternal. Timed immortality is given to a member. Since The Velar had a Fountain of Youth, races with short lifespans have been given initial membership.
In order to be inducted into the order, an individual should be on the radar of The Creator. The individual would have to be extraordinarily special either generally or in a specific area and, as The Creator wants, the said individual should have no attachments. Meaning, the individual should not have family or other responsibilities close to them. They should be ready to drop their old life and accept the new one leaving all emotions behind.
The Velar has 4 tiers:
The Creator - The head of The Velar
The Eikons - Handpicked by The Creator, twenty, each with a title based on their capabilities
The Khalabasters - Officers picked either by The Creator or an Eikon, able warriors that are assigned a number of Hetais for a specific quest
The Hetai - Soldiers inducted by an Eikon or The Creator
An individual chosen for recruitment, either by The Creator or an Eikon, is officially inducted into the order when they are given an emblem of those who they are under. It is the choice of The Creator or the Eikon on what their grounds or requirements for recruitment are. Some Eikons have impossible tasks, some have simple tests, and some have a mix of both.
Once part of The Velar, the first tradition that a new recruit undergoes is a bath in the Fountain of Youth. This grants the recruit timed immortality. The next tradition is different for every Eikon.

Each of these Eikons has an area of expertise or a subset of a specific skill that makes them tailored for their title. Eikons often are sent by The Creator on a quest with either their own Khalabasters and Hetais or in rare instances, with other Eikons.
Each Eikon has an emblem of their own and these emblems symbolize all that are under them in The Velar. This includes all Khalabasters and Hetais that are managed by them.
In the instance that an Eikon becomes incapable of fulfilling their duty, The Creator chooses a Khalabaster or a Hetai, or even an outsider to become an Eikon. The Eikon is then knighted for it to become official in the eyes of The Creator and The Velar.
