This game has to be the worse game that I have watched as a united fan ever. The boys did not look up for it and were humiliated by a better Liverpool team from start to finish. In this article, I will be giving my thoughts on what exactly went wrong for United.
The Manager
It hurts to write this, but the person most at blame for today's defeat is Ole, who made all the decisions. He thought the game plan was good enough to break down Liverpool with the players he has, and maybe on another day it would be, but it wasn't to be, and Paul Scholes was right. The team was torn apart by a better team. Ole will have many questions to answer in the coming days and will have his future questioned. Does he keep his job? Only he knows that.
The players
Where do I start with this? The players were all over the place making mistakes. I have defended Maguire from the abuse he gets online, but he was god awful same with Shaw. The midfield was non existent and was overrun by Liverpool quickly. The players looked like they couldn't care less, and that hurts. In the future, we need to see players like Cavani and Matic steady the ship and give the team a bit of stability.
The coaches
Ole's backroom team has come under scrutiny in recent weeks, with some questioning what Mike Phelen, Michael Carrick and Kieran Mckenna do at the club. The game raises more questions of the three coaches behind the manager. We don't see behind the scenes of the training, but going by the matches, no one teaches players to defend or clear a ball. These next few weeks will tell us whether the coaching team has what it takes to continue.
What happens from here?
The question every Man United fan will be asking. The manager's job will be brought up for discussion with fans asking for him to be sacked. The players will be questioned on their quality and how much they are backing the manager. These next few weeks will be testing times for Man United fans but remember always to support the players and the team and make criticism respectful.
