The ranks of the Alumni.
The ranks of the Alumni.
Introduction
Ranks within the Alumni are generalized until an individual decides to specialize within the Valedictorian or Salutatorian branches. The following is a basic representation of the generalized command structure within the Alumni:
XR Holo-tag
[XR] Apprentice
Application: No - This rank is available for all
Alumni Initiates who have not yet fully reached the rank of Aspirant; Apprentices are typically contractors, commonly seen working alongside the Alumni with similar duties. Most work as accomplices or helpers towards higher-ranked members; hence it is rare to see one operating alone. They receive casual clothing and are not trusted to carry powerful equipment, so most Apprentices use melee weapons.
LR Holo-tag
[LR] Aspirant
Application: Yes - LR Application
By far the most common rank in the organization, ‘Aspirant’ perform most of the heavy lifting. Despite being regarded as ‘accepted’ members, most are prohibited from using advanced technology and collected technology. The majority are poorly equipped with civilian gear and dress up in letterman jackets. Most believe they are taking artifacts to prevent misuse, as they believe wastelanders are incapable of handling them. Those who display profound knowledge about technology or combat get promoted to ‘Mentee’ - the threshold into Mentor.
SR Holo-tag
[SR] Mentee
Application: Yes - SR Application and promotional
Members who have established themselves to be more knowledgeable and obedient than a standard Aspirant but not as prepared as a Mentor fall into the rank of Mentee. Mentees carry out standard patrols with their lower counterparts while preparing themselves to become a Mentor. With the help of Mentors, they grow into respected individuals and eventually take up the mantle in becoming the next step within the Alumni structure.
MR Holo-tag
[MR] Mentor
Application: No - This rank is promotional
Knowledgeable and obedient members selected from the Aspirant pool, Mentors distribute orders given by higher-ups to Aspirants. They serve the role of ‘team leaders’ and organize groups to execute activities for their branch. While they are experienced members, Mentors typically use the same equipment and wear the same attire as regular Alumni members, with some exceptions given to some. Those who are seen as devoted and show outstanding skills get selected to be Mentors. Most of the time, these are the legitimate descendants of the original college students.
SMR Holo-tag
[SMR] Tribune
Application: No - This rank is promotional
Representatives of the lower echelon of the Alumni, functioning as the elite of their elective branches. Tribunes are selected by the Domini for the extreme dedication to the cause and act as the most direct link between upper and lower command. Functionally, the Tribunes are a transitionary rank between the Mentors and the Domini, serving as bureaucratic managers and middle-officer ranks. They are often times mysterious and reclined from experience, more so than the vocal Mentors yet not as much as the Domini above them, as they are tempered by their knowledge; to be revered by all below them.
HR Holo-tag
[HR] Domini
Application: No - This rank is promotional
Knowledgeable, intelligent, and oftentimes mysterious, Domini lead and assign activities to their branches. Most lead large groups to battle or complete important activities Tribunes are incapable of. Domini are seen as role models for most Aspirants, but hidden behind the curtains they only seek to ‘preserve’ technology for their own selfish needs - displaying a facade about how knowledge and technology can not be trusted within the hands of a common wastelander. Only a handful of Domini ever get promoted to Director by the President.
