The Sanctum Regulations Bureau, the Alumni's Civil Police
Summary
The Sanctum Regulations Bureau is a section of the Alumni focused around the order and security of Sanctum. They often have more knowledge and authority when it comes to matters tied to Sanctum.
With the Sanctum opened as a place of settlement, it requires a police force to deal with upholding order and ensuring people obey the laws of Sanctum. To act as such the Sanctum Regulations Bureau [SRB] was established to handle Sanctum and The Alumni’s security needs.
The SRB existed before Bargetown’s arrival but was abolished by Arlington when Sanctum was closed from the public following his Isolationist direction. With Sanctum open again under President Lucious, the Alumni re-established the Sanctum Regulations Bureau, and it now continuously works to keep the branch up-to-date with time’s demands.
In the wake of the Creolite Regime, the Directorate has placed the Bureau in charge of all prisoner processing and law and order within Sanctum in an attempt to maintain the peace in the turbulent wake of revolution.
A quick lore guide upon the Sanctum Regulations Bureau
Several years after the Alumni’s venture into the wasteland and the founding of Sanctum, the Alumni debated the need for a police force for —what was at the time an open settlement. The result was a more simplistic force that originally served as a subsidiary to the Salutatorians. With the arrival of Bargetown and the significant decrease in Sanctum's non-Alumni population, coupled with Arlingtons furthered Isolationist policies, the movement was made to disband the dedicated force as the need for someone to perform such duties were significantly decreased and the rest could be handed off to the Primary branches. The skeletal structure for a better funded and formatted force was shelved within the confines of the Compendium, and during the Alumni's time in isolation, it remained unneeded and unused. But, with recent events such as that of the Watchmen Incidents, the Voyageur Equipment Scandal and the Arlington Mutant Experiments, the Alumni hierarchy has called for a new and more internal take on a police force mostly pushed by the Directorate during Arlington's reign.
Under President Lucious, the old structure has been reformatted and redesigned to become the Sanctum Regulations Bureau, in hopes to fit the new direction mostly developed by the Directorate.
A quick guide upon the Sanctum Regulations Bureau's personality within the faction
The staffing of the Sanctum Regulations Bureau is far more limited than that of the other Branches who have far more expansive numbers. This mostly due to its relatively self contained status, high skill requirements, and not needing many members. Since the time of it's establishment, the Bureau's duties are nothing new to the majority of its members. Most Stationaries are seen sticking close to the books, with most personnel applying judicious punishments to those caught breaking the laws of the Sanctum, most especially after the recent fall of the Creolite regime. With the Directorate's blessing, the Bureau has undertaken the arduous task of both processing the masses of Creolite prisoners, maintaining law and order, and keeping peace within Sanctum. The newfound power of the Bureau has lead to a rise in "aggressive" peacekeeping tactics.
