HW_Acceleration

This picture shows PowerDVD Codec with HW acceleration selected DXVA

On the right you can see the HD5770 using 16% to view BBC1 HD at 1920 by 1088 and the rest of the apps I am using.

I sometimes have 3 DVBviewer running and GPU usage is below 50%.

CPUs are doing very little on the video side of things, they are in fact running my Small Business Server in a virtual Box

By the way many Codecs use sw acceleration, if your GPU device supports HW acceleration you need to use it.

To select HW acceleration in DVBviewer

via options-->DiectX --->then selectcodec for the transmission type...my example shows H264 (HD TV usually via this choice).

I have also tried this with the LAV H264 filter and it seems to work well. CPU and GPU utilization very similar to previous settings with POWERDVD codec.
