Dust your PC

Like everything else that is accessible to dust your PC has the capability to suck in dust at a phenomenal rate. The fans that are used to keep the PC cool have to suck in air to do their job ....with air comes dust.

Some PC cases have built in air filters to keep the dust out, in this case you have to periodically clean the filters.

As you can see from the pictures I need to clean this PC , this will reduce the temperature somewhat.

You can use many different methods. Air Duster canisters can be bought and are reasonably capable of blowing the dust away but if you are doing this in the same room as your PC it may be sucked back in.

What I tend to use is a vacuum cleaning ...This will suck the dust into the bag. I use a SEBO vacuum cleaner which has a very good system for trapping the dust.

If you use a vacuum cleaner make sure you use one which has a plastic attachment to suck in dust. Avoid touching sensitive components (CPU, memory and motherboard).

For the hard to get places I use an old tootbrush to flick the dust off and then either blow it away by an air duster or vacuum it up.
