Northern Luzon, Philippines' first and oldest state university is the University of Northern Philippines (UNP), which is situated in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. The UNP Laboratory School provides a K–12 system-aligned basic education program under the auspices of the College of Teacher Education. Education majors can gain real-world teaching experience at this lab school, which reflects the university's pedagogical goal of developing future teachers.
