Things I don't know
I don't know why H.P. Lovecraft in specific was chosen to be "revived"
I don't know exactly how big of an impact he has had on modern culture
I don't know if Lovecraft was a bad person
I don't know what his made his writing style or stories truly unique
I don't know how the opinion of his works changed over time, especially when it was first revived
I don't know if he was raised religiously and how much of an impact that might have had on him
I don't know what he might've tried to accomplish through his writings
I don't know why there were no works like his during his time or even after
I don't know how his mental state played into his writings, along with his biases
I don't know why cosmic horror can be so scary, and how much it scared Lovecraft
I think the one "I don't know"Â I should focus on is the I don't know what his made his writing style or stories truly unique. I think I should familiarise myself with how he writes, what are his trends, what made his stories worth reviving. I think by doing this first, before understanding the why, can better help me immerse myself and then afterwards asking why and making connections with the now familiar works. Another reason is I think I want to focus more on his works than the man himself, with only the study of him being a side thing so as to better understand his works, and by doing it in this order I can potentially gain multiple perspectives on his works.
