Every book needs a blurb. Y'know the small summary on the back, or inside the dust cover. That's what I'll be attempting to write in this journal.
Maybe... we're not at the top.
At this point, I'm not sure I know what the top is anymore.
Phombiblis goes by many names. The Prophesized City. The Land beyond land. The Zeroth Wonder of the Ancient World. Whatever one may call it, it most certainly calls to Jack Murat. An aspiring archeologist who is given a chance to go on an expedition with his hero, and the person who discovered this city. Dr. Sol. An originally amaetuer explorer who stumbled upon a city in Iceland, which was dated to be older than Jericho, which was at the time, widely considered to be the oldest city of the world. But what was more curious about was it's striking resemblance to a city described by a certain martyred cult leader known as Xanadis. Jack thinks nothing of this "coincidence", although, he probably should, as what good as ever come out of a cult?
Another thing that I'll be attempting to write is that small preview you might see on amazon before you buy a book.
"...the vacuum decay would be the complete erasure of the universe. Due to the way the energy changes, it could completely restructure our understanding of physics. Particles simply would not behave the same way."
"Probably what the burrito I ate yesterday went through. The poor thing will never be the same again." Brian blurted out in his usual fashion, always trying to make a joke of everything.
"Not one of your best ones Brian." Sarah quickly retorted, unimpressed as everyone else at the poor excuse of a joke.
"You miss every shot you don't take. 'sides, gotta spice life up, unlike you, you sourpuss." Sarah just rolled her eyes and groaned at the statement. Then at last, the most blessed sound came, the ring of the bell.
"Well that's all for today, remember you have pages 113-125 due next class." The professor tried to get the message across before mostly everybody rushed to the door.
"God that class is boring." Jack yawned out.
"Don't gotta tell me twice." Brian responded as he stretched out his arms above his head.
"But I just had to get through that. Now I can do what I've been waiting for, for the last two months." Jack said as he suddenly got a lot less tired and started picking up his pace.
"Oh right, you get to meet your your hero today, don't you?" Brian said with a rather smug look on his face.
"Yeah, the one and only Dr. Sol. The woman who made the discovery of the century. What she found and studied changed the entire timeline we've had up 'till 1996." Jack's eyes were basically lighting up by this point "Now she's doing an open expedition back to Pohmiblis with one student from OUR school. I don't even care if I'm not picked, I just want to see her in the flesh." He continued on like some fangirl of Taylor Swift.
"I think you idolise her too much dude." Brian scoffed. "I mean it's a cool discovery, but it's not like she invented a quantum computer or anything."
"You wouldn't understand as some engineer major. She's the biggest figure in basically anything history."
"Whatever you say dude." The two continued to walk for a little bit until Brian suddenly blurted out. "Hey, why'd she do this all of a sudden anyway? Didn't she like become a recluse after she released her famous paper? And why this school, or why any school? Why not gather a proper, fully trained team?"
"... I don't actually know. She just announced it and I got way too excited to even bother to ask. I'm sure the press will ask though, there's no way she could avoid them here. I already see their army lining up."
