Out of the interactions and exchanges that constitute daily social life, Fall like a feather is an improvisational performance inspired by the moment of falling and moving forward, and will take public space as a stage, re-enacting historical events. This work intends to bring the audience to unfamiliar situations so as to rethink their gain and lost in life.

What is the implications of these moments? Regina Ip was knocked down (career is going downside), Tung Chee-hwa fell down on a stage (the decline of Hong Kong), Wong Ka Kui accidentally fell off from a platform in Japan (drastic change in Hong Kong’s Pop Rock scene), Margaret Thatcher fell on the staircases outside The Great Hall of the People after the Sino-British meeting (a lot of people’s world has changed).

Some people fell, so some people’s world have changed. Fall like a feather will reenact the historical moment of Margaret Thatcher’s falling in Beijing, and invite participants to use his life experience to link with the performance and interpret such a dramatic, destined, and anxious moment.

Yim Sui Fong’s Fall like a feather is part of her project to be exhibited at the Talkover/Handover 2.0., This work will use constructed situation, dialogue and social interaction to create performative actions. There are also workshops that invite participants to use body to express themselves via improvisational performances in public space.

• Aged 16 or above
