This is Alvah's current design, specifically while he's stuck in what is essentially an empty, vast prison realm, thanks to Iska and her hatred of anything unpredictable. He's a snake because I just mentally tied chaos and snakes together, and I also liked drawing snake people. This version of him was easier to draw, mainly because it doesn't show his face. His scales were easy to draw. I don't know if I'll change it much.
Actually, in this drawing, I made it less like the corners being covered in charcoal and instead being everything dark except for a small space around him. I don't know if it shows, but I also attempted to make it look kinda like those rays of sunlight and dark? I don't know how to describe it, however, it does come in handy when I start descibing how he gets out in the two Downfall of Distortion episodes.
This is his second design, in which I actually turned into Junji Ito. Actually, the drawing on the right was done for Goretober 2022 (prompt was mutation I think?), and it's supposed to be when he loses control and ends up becoming that. Looks like Iska got to him, huh? (Ignore the fact that I drew this before I even knew Iska was gonna exist)
This one wasn't much change to the first design, only I leaned into the "Falling apart" aspect, just having some fun with it. It was good practice for drawing torn flesh, with him and all those spines
Alvah's first design is oddly detailed compared to all the others. I do like the webbed hands, but why does it look like he has tits? Another thing one of my friends pointed out. Him having a cape feels kinda random but not bad. I think the main issue I had with this one is that he doesn't look chaotic really. The second one is REALLY chaotic and messy, but the third one looks like an actual Diety. At least to me. This one just looks like a snake guy with a cape.
But you can tell how things translated from 1-2-3.
THE JOKER CARD!! He's a very pink guy. But then I realize his torso is kinda shaped like a cybertruck.
Alvah's designs feel a bit more interesting when it comes to the others, and not because he's a snake guy. Because such small details change so much with him. But also I really like his goretober sketch, so maybe when I finish the collection of short stories and I start writing downfall of distortion (listen to the episode Downfall of Distortion) to make it feel jarring when he's just in the void and the next time you get to see him in drawing, he's actually so distorted and far gone.
