This course is build on the foundations of learning that can be applied to any classroom. The Spiral design of the integrated levels of instruction will be familiar to professional teachers of any subject. The course material is standard to the practice of doublebass teaching. Elements of the resource material is sourced in different languages and is made readily available for students.
Musical concepts are common to the understanding that would be required of a professional music teacher. Material and concepts that are specific to the doublebass would require a skill doublebass player/teacher. It is important that the teacher is able to demonstrate the skills with high proficiency and be a diagnostician for the student.
If a highly skilled teacher is not available, it would be recommended that support from a highly skilled doublebass professional be sought either in-person (with required supervision) or appropriate on-line teaching be provided. It is important to remember that students are physically still growing during the years of instruction. During these years, it is very important to consider the physical demands of the doublebass and how playing will effect students learning to play the instrument.
