Ms. Pam Mason
I am very happy to be teaching in the same program I played in as a student. Teaching strings in Canada is a unique opportunity and I am very happy to be back in Halifax teaching at Halifax Regional Centre for Education's Halifax Regional Arts.
I attended McGill University (Montreal P.Q.) for music after graduating from Halifax West High School. I studied doublebass with Michael Leiter and Dennis James who were both principle bassists of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. After finishing university studies, I was able to work as a freelance musician and travel Canada and the U.S. playing in Rose Vaughan Trio and with Ardith and Jennifer (contemporary celtic musicians) as well as other ensembles. Being involved in many recording projects lead me to starting a professional recording studio which I still have active and I still freelance.
